We know it’s hard to getaway sometimes with work, packed schedules, and well – life! Whether you’re married, engaged, or just need time away with your family and friends, we’ve come up with five local weekend (or weekday if you’re in the event industry) retreats that we personally LOVE!
Number one on our list: If you’re an avid skier, snowboarder or love the outdoors Big Bear is the perfect place for you! We’ve found an amazing cabin nestled in the heart of Big Bear that is convenient to the slopes, lake, hiking trails and downtown – it’s called The Rock House! Our stays there have been wonderful and we absolutely love the modern take on cabin life.
Number two on our list: Rancho Mirage! As much as we love sunny San Diego it’s nice to hit the road for a little trip to somewhere warmer. It may be over 100 degrees in the summer but it’s always a great time laying out and shopping out with girlfriends or having romantic dinners with your significant other. Don’t forget about the spa days and golf adventures this gorgeous city has to offer. We’ve enjoyed staying at two wonderful condos in Rancho Las Palmas! Number three on our list: When we look for a place to stay it sometimes comes down to the pool and this pool does not disappoint! We’re talking about Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort! Their gorgeous Mediterranean style Casitas go above and beyond providing private entries, large sun decks and ample space for relaxation . The Hilton offers a water park equipped with slides and lazy rivers – fun for kids or anyone who wants to kick back and enjoy the sun.
Number four on our list: Las Vegas! Only a one hour flight and you’ve landed in Sin City! Not only is this a popular location for bachelor and bachelorette parties but it is also a fun place to relax, see shows, and dine out. This is the city that never sleeps so there is always something fun and adventurous to do. Our stay at the MGM Signature Towers exceeded expectations. We also loved the private pool and miniature golf course at the Mirage Villas. For those of you who like to get away from the strip, we really enjoyed Alexis Park and the indoor jacuzzis – great after a fun night out!
Number five on our list: We know this may be a stretch for some but we had to share one of our favorite places… yes, Hawaii! White sandy beaches and clear blue water gets us every time. So this may not be a “local weekend getaway” per-say but during our stay in Waikiki we were lucky enough to book a loft style condominium with gorgeous views and wonderful amenities. The Iliaki is on the beach, near the lagoon, and a step away from local restaurants and shopping! We fell in love with the Lagoon Condo during our stay and hope you do too!
